Since 1966, Arribas Sintra Hotel has stood along the dramatic coastline near Sintra, shaped by sea, light, and time. Inaugurated by Américo Tomás, the hotel began as a bold concept: ocean pools and hospitality conceived as one experience. It was modern, forward thinking, and deeply connected to its setting.
Still family owned, the hotel has evolved across generations while preserving its architectural identity and values of authentic hospitality. Artists and filmmakers have passed through its corridors, including director Wim Wenders and the band U2. Yet Arribas remains grounded. Discreet. Enduring. Today, as a four star hotel, heritage and renewal exist in balance, with a renewed focus on well being and contemporary coastal living. The ocean remains the constant.

Arribas opens with 25 rooms and its iconic ocean pools, designed by architects Raul Tojal and Manuel Coutinho de Carvalho. Conceived as a pool complex with an integrated hotel, it introduced a distinctive coastal hospitality concept. The hotel is inaugurated by Américo Tomás.
